Street Fighter 6's full launch roster appears to have leaked

We're coming hot off the heels of a very impressive showing from Capcom at yesterday's Sony State of Play presentation where the company unveiled a massive wave of information on Street Fighter 6. Not only were new characters shown, but we were treated to actual gameplay, mechanic breakdowns, a glimpse at the adventure-style 1-player mode, and a release window.

Unfortunately, above all else it appears that fans can't seem to stop talking about a potential leak that emerged last night. It looks as though Street Fighter 6's full launch roster has found its way online prematurely.

A series of concept art pieces surfaced that show a full set of 22 fighters set for Street Fighter 6. Based on what we've seen officially of Street Fighter 6 so far, these art pieces are very convincing and look like they're very much in the style of the upcoming game.

We're unsure where exactly these potential leaks came from, and it seems that no one has really been able to hammer down a source. Still, the contents of this artwork seems to be lining up very closely to what we've seen and heard about the title so far.

The leaked images include a look at 14 legacy characters set to return, as well as 8 newcomers (including Luke). If these images are to be believed, there are some very interesting picks included here.

Before going into the specific line up, I do want to point out that all of the returning characters are sporting a new design that definitely appears to fit alongside Ryu and Chun-Li's now more aged look. Even the clothing style gels well with what Ryu and Chun are wearing these days, which adds more credibility to the whole thing.

As far as returning characters go, we see the following: Ryu, Ken, Zangief, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Chun-Li, Cammy, Dee Jay, Rashid, Juri, Ed, and Akuma.

Cammy's design is quite a bit different than what we're used to as she now has a short hairdo and is wearing pants. Dee Jay also comes with a completely updated look that includes a small jacket and big hair.

Outside of Juri, though, there appears to be no characters from Street Fighter 3, Street Fighter 4, or the Street Fighter Alpha series, which is certainly peculiar. I can't help but wonder if they will be saved for themed DLC in the future.

Even more interesting is that this leak even includes names of all of the characters. The newcomers we see as part of this list are: Luke, Marisa, Jamie, Mimi, Lily, JP, Kimberly, and A.K.I.

Obviously, we've seen Luke and Jamie already, and the initial gameplay trailer sneakily revealed Kimberly at the very end of the showcase. However, everyone else shown here is brand new.

Starting with Marisa, we see a very tall, very muscular fighter with red hair and a bob hair style. This world warrior can actually be seen on one of the Metro City advertisements in the very beginning of the new gameplay trailer.

Mimi is a combatant from France who has pink hair and wears a karate gi over a blue and black body suit. Lily, on the other hand, hails from Mexico and wields a club in each hand, potentially having some relation to T. Hawk (based on her appearance).

JP is next, and this tall fighter appears to be an old man with long white hair and beard who wears a vest, slacks, a cape, and walks around with a cane. Then we have a better shot of Kimberly, who we now see has several large braids hanging down and also appears to be listening to a cassette player.

The final character shown is named A.K.I. and comes from China. Based on the claws on her hand, the dress, and her origin place, we think this may be F.A.N.G's apprentice Phantom that we spoke about in a previous article.

Now that the cat may actually be out of the bag here, it is possible that Capcom could move some things around and change the launch roster up to throw internet sleuths off the scent. However, for now this is looking like it might be the real deal, and if that's the case, we now have a look at who will be playable come launch day.
