This Super Smash Bros. Ultimate mod grants every character critical hits and changes the game entirely

It was back in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U that developers implemented the critical hit mechanic, which gave certain characters a chance of suddenly scoring a whole mess of bonus damage and wound up being one of the most fun ways to enhance a non-competitive match.

Masahiro Sakurai and his team brought the crit hit mechanic back in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, (albeit nerfed a decent bit) and some tech savvy players decided to do two things with it: give every single character crit hits and up the chances that they'll occur.

Vishera Games is the mastermind behind the mod we're showing off today. Here we see a 2 minute showcase of how any roster member is able to suddenly lop off staggering amounts of damage, and the chances of doing so are a whopping one in four:

There's a more proper showcase for Smash Ultimate's 80+ select screen put together by Little Z. This video shows more than just the mod in action, as the hosts have just the best time pulling it all off.

What we soon realize is that multi-hitting moves, such as Link's Spin Attack, have chances to crit hit with each individual hit they do. At one point in the video, we see Young Link take Falco to 90% damage with jaw-dropping speed.

This also affects projectiles, including multi-hit ones like Ness' PK-Fire. We'll let you imagination go wild with what that might look like, and would love to hear your reactions to all of this zany Smash action in the comments once you've had a chance to watch.
