Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live stream begins at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET
Gamescom 2022 is slated to run from August 23 until August 28. Indeed, the "Opening Night Live" segment will be hosted by Geoff Keighley today at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET.
Today's stream is expected to go on for a two hour session. During this stream, more than 30 upcoming games will be talked about. Needless to say, even us fighting game fans have a few potential reasons to tune in.
The last time Geoff Keighley hosted a digital event, Guile was revealed for Street Fighter 6. We already know that the Street Fighter 6 demo will be playable at Gamescom 2022. It's looking likely that history will in some ways repeat itself later today.
Of course, there's also the potential for more news outside of just Street Fighter 6. We recently got teased about something related to the Tekken series at Evo 2022. Although it might be too soon for more information about what this Tekken project is, the possibility certainly exists.
Meanwhile, we still don't have any official information regarding NetherRealm Studios' next project. It's been over a year since post-launch development for Mortal Kombat 11 ceased, so it feels like NRS could make an announcement any day now.
It's also worth noting that MultiVersus is in the thick of it with its Season 1 content. Morty is already releasing as a playable character today, but we also know that Rick, Black Adam, and Stripe will also join at some point. This seems like the perfect opportunity to release a gameplay trailer or two.
