It's been over a year since NetherRealm Studios announced that post-launch development for Mortal Kombat 11 had ceased, and that the developers had moved on to their next project. Ever since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting news on what this next project could be. Is it Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3? Or maybe it even has something to do with that rumor concerning Marvel Comics.

Regardless, some fans were hoping that maybe we'd get some news on October 8 of this year, the 30th anniversary of the Mortal Kombat series. Recently, however, something for the 30th anniversary may or may not have leaked on Amazon. If this is really the only thing that's planned, then fans should be ready for a disappointment.

Over on Amazon UK, an item called the "Mortal Kombat: The 30th Anniversary Ultimate Bundle" for the PlayStation 5 is available to pre-order. It's said that the item will be released on September 26, 2022, just 15 days before the 30th anniversary.

While the idea of an "Ultimate Bundle" for Mortal Kombat does sound interesting, the contents of the bundle is a real let down. Packaged inside of an exclusive steelbook will be Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and the Mortal Kombat movie from 2021.

This item has been posted on Amazon UK since August 15, 2022. As of the time of writing this, Amazon UK has not taken down the item, implying that this may not actually be a leak.

Mortal Kombat: The 30th Anniversary Ultimate Bundle is being priced at £29.99, which is about $36 dollars in the United States. However, it should be noted that this item is only listed on Amazon UK right now, so it's unknown if it will even become available in North America.

It's rather difficult to imagine a Mortal Kombat fan that doesn't already own Mortal Kombat 11, or hasn't seen the Mortal Kombat 2021 movie. As such, it's not entirely clear who this bundle is intended for.

A video released by TrueUnderDawgGaming extensively covers the subject of the listed Mortal Kombat: The 30th Anniversary Ultimate Bundle. Check it out below:
