Swift Master wasn't the most popular DNF Duel character at VSFighting X while KOF15 had top finishers we don't often see
International fighting game competition is back in Europe with VSFighting X drawing many of the strongest players in the world for the biggest titles around.
DNF Duel and The King of Fighters 15 were the newest fighting games to see wide play at the major event, so we thought it'd be interesting to take a closer look at who the best were playing there.
DNF Duel drew the 3rd largest entrant crowd at VSFighting this year with 140 entrants, and we've got the full character statistics for the top 16, which equates to around the top 11% of players.
Interestingly, the undisputed top tier in DNF, Swift Master, was not the most popular character amongst the upper bracket competitors. He wasn't even 2nd.
It was actually Dragon Knight who came up on top with 25% of the top 16 using her, and 3 players using Trouble Shooter.
There were 9 characters in total who saw main play for that range, meaning almost half of the roster went unused — including Striker.
As for KOF15, the recent popular picks like Krohnen and Rock Howard didn't have nearly as much of a precense among the top 16.
Instead, it was B. Jenet who rocked all the way to the top finding her way onto 5 teams.
Mai and King also had better days than we're generally used to seeing too.
One of the most interesting things to see is the larger amount of picks who typically aren't seen in topping teams at majors like Omega Rugal, Antonov, King of Dinosaurs, Maxima, Clark and Isla show up in fun ways — although 3 of them are thanks to just GAW|InfernoKong.
