Upcoming animated film Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind gets exclusive first look trailer
The Mortal Kombat series may not have a new game on the way (that we know of), but fans of the franchise who are currently itchy for more do have a new animated film to look forward to. Warner Bros. has released a trailer for the upcoming film Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, the latest film from writer Jeremy Adams, who also worked on the previous Mortal Kombat Legends movies: Scorpion's Revenge and Battle of the Realms.
Snow Blind stars Mortal Kombat's blind swordsman Kenshi, as well as one of video games' most recognizable characters, Sub-Zero. The film is set to be released in digital form and on Blu-ray, though a set release date has not yet been revealed.
In Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, Kenshi will come face-to-face with series baddie Kano, who has apparently deemed himself a king and has the help of other Mortal Kombat villains backing him up. Viewers will be taken on a journey through Kenshi's upbringing, witnessing how he lost his eyesight, the finding of his ancestral sword, and the training that made him into a formidable warrior.
Many familiar faces make an appearance in this first look at Snow Blind. On Kano's side, we see the likes of Shang Tsung, Tremor, Kabal, and even Ferra and Torr — the duo that was first introduced in 2015's Mortal Kombat X.
Fortunately for Kenshi, this kombatant will be aided by none other than Sub-Zero, who appears to be incredibly powerful in the film. We see the icy ninja make a grand entrance in the trailer that instantly strikes fear into all of the aforementioned villains.
The first time fans met Kenshi was on November 16, 2002 with the release of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Though he made his debut in the 3D era of Mortal Kombat games, the swordsman would also go on to make appearances in more traditional 2D MK games such as Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) as a DLC character and then return in MKX.
