Kimberly and Juri announced for Street Fighter 6

Capcom officially announced Kimberly and Juri as playable characters for Street Fighter 6 following the Evo 2022 finals for Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition.

This brings the total number of revealed roster members to seven as the newcomers join with Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Jamie, and Luke. Continue on to see their trailers.

Kimberly immediately echoes the style of Guy as we see her perform a handful of familiar techniques the Bushinryu master is known for.

Keeping in step with the urban theme and the graffiti we've seen prominently in Street Fighter 6 footage thus far, Kimberly uses a pair of spray cans to paint her foes while performing at least on of her Super attacks.

SF6 Director, Takayuki Nakayama, had this to say about the franchise's freshest face.

"In terms of Kimberly’s design, we aimed to create an outfit suitable for her speedy and acrobatic movements since she excels in sports like track-and-field and cheerleading. Pair her brightly colored gi with sneakers suitable for moving around quickly, and you have Bushinryu-like ninja attire, don’t you think? We tried to make her hairstyle and outfit beautifully showcase her striking silhouette since she is an expert at running and airborne attacks. The spray can and portable cassette player on her waist are also used for special moves."

She shows off a handful of notable maneuvers in her trailer, including a few target combos, a spinning back body drop, a run and stop movement, and multiple wall interactions as she either leaps off or sends her opponent splatting into the extreme sides of the stage.

With her Hidden Variable maneuver Kimberly shrouds herself in a cloud of colorful smoke before reemerging in front of her foe for a surprise attack. She also is able to perform an attack called Genius at Play in which she hurls spray cans at the ground that act as explosives with delays.

Though technically older than ever, Juri is still her free spirited self with plenty of wickedly sassy personality. She's now a bit more into social media, and adds to the attitude with a fresh hair style and plenty of deadly moves.

Nakayama also has a bit to offer on the returning fighter.

"Underneath her jacket, black tape that imitates the appearance of a spider covers her body. The colors of her Feng Shui Engine are purple, black, and white, and accented with emerald green. Also, please pay attention to her helmet, as you may have seen in the trailer when she appears on her motorcycle, since it matches her design. Her smart phone also reflects her personality and style, don’t you think?"

Though she'll be familiar enough to those who have played her, Juri does have some updates to her tool set this time around. She continues to have install attacks via her Fuhajin technique, and can still perform her trademark flip and hop kicks.

It took a game off in Street Fighter 5, but Juri's Shiku-sen flying kick attack is back in Street Fighter 6. Apparently this time around she can really style with multiple kicks when using Shiku-sen to batter foes.
