Bridget revealed as Guilty Gear Strive Season 2's first DLC character, launches tomorrow
Arc System Works just took to the stage at Evo 2022 to make a major announcement. The company has officially unveiled the first DLC character set to join the roster in Season 2.
Bridget will be kicking off the season, and fans will be able to get their hands on this new warrior much sooner than expected. Arc System Works surprised viewers by announcing that Bridget will become available tomorrow, August 8.
Bridget comes equipped with her classic yo-yo and utilizes it as her main tool in battle. With this toy / weapon in hand, Bridget fights using long-ranged normal attacks and rapid hitting multi-strike maneuvers.
Arc System Works shared a full gameplay trailer for the new combatant, and in it we see Bridget also fight using the aid of a large teddy bear. The companion can be seen giving opponents a large bear hug and also hopping on a motorcycle with a circle of fire around it that runs swiftly into the foe.
The official Guilty Gear Twitter account notes that Bridget is an easy-to-use, standard character that excels in long-reaching attacks and mobility. She is able to perform tricky moves using her yo-yo, and the trailer shows some of the unique walk animations that manifest as yo-yo tricks that this legacy character has in Strive.
Bridget made her playable debut on May 23, 2002 in Guilty Gear X2. This bounty hunter was often mistaken for a girl despite being born male due to her appearance and how she was raised, and her look in Guilty Gear Strive looks fairly similar to past versions — albeit wearing a new outfit.
Guilty Gear Strive's Season 2 DLC content begins with Bridget's launch tomorrow. A newly released roadmap shows that three more characters will follow, with one more expected to release here in 2022.
The other two will drop sometime in 2023, and with each one will come a new stage. The identities of the other three DLC contenders have not yet been unveiled.
