The fighting game community got quite the shock last month when The Rumble Fish and its sequel were unexpectedly announced to be coming to consoles for the first time out of seemingly nowhere.

Dimps and 3goo have now released new details about what the updated package of The Rumble Fish 2 will come packing with new features and a long list of release systems.

One of the first things confirmed in the new press release is that The Rumble Fish 2 will indeed come with rollback netcode, so you can check that off of the list.

Pretty much everyone will be able to get their hands on the previously Japan-only, cult classic fighting game considering The Rumble Fish 2 will be launching on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

As for the game's new features, it now offers 16:9 widescreen with some updated visuals, a Training Mode and a new Gallery Mode.

There's no firm release date yet, but they are still aiming for a Winter 2022 launch.

The Rumble Fish 2 added 6 new characters plus an expanded battle system over the first game, and before now, it had never even seen a home release even in Japan.

Strangely, there was no mention of the original Rumble Fish game in the new press release, so we presume that's still coming too — but can't say that for certain at the moment.

You can, however, check out some new screenshots for The Rumble Fish 2 below.
