Desk somehow makes the Mortal Kombat 2 intro rock even harder with this killer new music video
The intro theme for Mortal Kombat 2 already rocks pretty hard, but what if it could rock EVEN HARDER?! Combo expert / talented musician Desk asked this difficult question and then proceeded to find the perfect answer.
In a new, creatively done music video featuring in-game Mortal Kombat 2 clips, Desk has showcased a cover of the classic intro theme that indeed rocks hard as all hell.
The star of the show here is the track that was put together by Desk and his band. What we have is a heavier, more distorted, more ass-kicking version of the theme with thick guitar riffs and squealing high leads.
What helps further bring the music to life is the assortment of clips used throughout the showcase. Instead of Desk's usual high-level combo skills being on display here, the creator utilizes various moments and attacks from the game that often play out to the beat of the song.
A high kick from Jax and a nut punch from Johnny Cage help emphasize a couple of loud drum hits, and the whole thing works really well together. Add in several explosions, announcer laughs, and of course, some blood and gore, and you've got the makings of a great Mortal Kombat 2 music video.
Desk notes that making this video is the most fun he's had with a project in a very long time, and he hopes to do the same with other fighting game intros. He is taking suggestions, so if you have any in mind that you'd like to see get the music video treatment, be sure to let him know in the comments on YouTube.
