Update: The Nintendo Direct stream has officially begun. Watch the stream with us in the story below.

The seasonal and global video game holiday is upon us with it finally being Nintendo Direct day where fans are looking forward to some new digital presents to be unwrapped in front of them.

Nintendo's latest announcement and information stream is scheduled to start up shortly at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET, which you can watch alongside us all here once the time is right.

This won't be a super brief affair either, as the presentation is set to last around 40 minutes in total four our viewing pleasure.

Nintendo says the Direct will mainly focus around upcoming Nintendo Switch titles releasing this winter, but there's one other thing most people here are looking to see the over everything else.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is very likely to receive its final DLC character announcement at some point of the event though they almost always kick off the streams with the new fighter reveal.

While there's no direct confirmation Smash will be included in the broadcast, we're about due for one considering Tekken's Kazuya Mishima released almost three months ago at this point. If we don't get the announcement here, we could be waiting until December around when The Game Awards take place.

Nobody yet knows the identity of this last character set to close out this historic fighting game, but we recently closed our final poll on what fans are hoping to see come to fruition.

Streaming is being Nintendo's Twitch page, which you can view below, or the developer's YouTube channel.
