Nintendo has officially announced that a new Nintendo Direct is set to air tomorrow, September 23. The broadcast will focus on information pertaining to games on Nintendo Switch launching this winter.

The stream is expected to run for nearly 40 minutes and promises to bring a steady stream of information on these upcoming titles.

"Tune in 9/23 at 3 p.m. PT for a #NintendoDirect livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter," reads the official Nintendo of America Twitter account.

While there are several big-name Nintendo titles that we know are on the horizon and are admittedly excited for, one game in particular is highly important here in the fighting game community. Fans are wondering when we'll be seeing the next and final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character revealed, and tomorrow could be when the unveiling happens.

As it stands right now, Fighters Pass vol. 2 has revealed and released five of its six scheduled fighters. Beginning with ARMS's Min Min, we'd go on to see Steve from Minecraft, Final Fantasy 7's Sephiroth, Pyra and Mythra of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fame, and finally Tekken's Kazuya join the cast.

Last week we reported on some rumors that made mention of this Nintendo Direct. A Nintendo insider by the name of Samus Hunter spoke about a Nintendo Direct scheduled to air around this time and provided some details on what it might show.

Back in July, Samus Hunter wrote on Twitter that this broadcast would feature Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates, a Resident Evil game for the Switch, and the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character reveal, among other things.

Seeing as though the insider looks to have been correct about the existence of this Nintendo Direct and the timeframe, it's probably not a bad idea to keep an eye on it for that last Smash Ultimate character. We can't say that they will for sure be announced, but right now there's looking to be a good chance that it'll happen.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate series creator Masahiro Sakurai has gone on record several times now saying that this character will be the absolute last character to join the game's playable cast. In fact, the conclusion of Fighters Pass vol. 2 is set to mark the conclusion of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate entirely, according to Sakurai.

Do you think we'll see the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character announced during the Nintendo Direct tomorrow? If so, who do you think it will be? Let us know in the comments below.
