We recently learned that the Injustice animated movie will be released on October 19, 2021. Details about the film's cover art and bonus features were also revealed.

With Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms now already released, it's time for footage of the upcoming Injustice animated movie to start getting released in the form of trailers. Notably, the first trailer was released today.

It seems that this Injustice movie will focus on a lot of the action that happened before the main events of the first Injustice game. Although we heard about how the Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane and his unborn child (which then caused the annihilation of Metropolis), these events did not actually play out in the game's cutscenes.

Those that did not familiarize themselves with the Injustice comic book series will finally get their first opportunity to see how events unfolded before and after Metropolis was destroyed.

Justin Hartley will be taking on the role of Superman while Anson Mount will be the voice of Batman in this animated film. Other actors and actresses include Janet Varney as Wonder Woman, Brandon Micheal Hall as Cyborg, Kevin Pollak as Joker and Jonathan Kent, Anika Noni Rose as Catwoman, Reid Scott as Green Arrow and Victor Zsasz, Edwin Hodge as Mr. Terrific and Killer Croc, Gillian Jacobs as Harley Quinn, Oliver Hudson as Plastic Man, Laura Bailey as Lois Lane and many more.

The animated film has been rated R for its bloody violence. This isn't too surprising as it looks like a certain scene involving a heart rip will probably be shown during the movie. Check out the trailer below:
