The world of Injustice: Gods Among Us is one of the most well-received coming out of DC Comics in the past decade, and fans will get the chance to see the superhero civil war play out in a new way quite soon.

Warner Bros. finally announced that the animated Injustice movie is set to release for Blu-ray and digital storefronts on October 19, 2021.

On top of that, NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon also shared the cover artwork for the series his team helped create, which depicts Superman angrily clenching Batman's arm while Wonder Woman attempts to hold back his incoming punch.

The physical editions of this new adaptation of the video game and graphic novels comes packing some bonus features too including a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie came together from the creative team called Adventures in Storytelling – Injustice: Crisis and Conflict.

Others listed on the disc set are DC Universe Movies Flashbacks for The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen plus From the DC Vault for Justice League - Injustice For All Part 1 and 2.

Injustice's suggested retail price is set at $40 USD for the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo pack while the lone Blu-ray will cost $30. It does not appear to be included with HBO Max subscriptions at this time.

As for the plot of the movie, it will reportedly pull from both the first Injustice game and the comic run of Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One delving into the fall of Superman — though no mention has been made as to whether alternate versions of the heroes will be joining the fight like NetherRealm's title.

The voice cast of the fighting games are not reprising their roles for the film. Instead, Justin Hartley of Smallville and This is Us fame and Anson Mount of Star Trek and The Evil Within will be leading as Superman and Batman respectively with more confirmed actors and characters being found here.

If we somehow don't receive an official trailer beforehand, DC Fandome will almost assuredly have something to show when it takes place on October 16.
