One Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl character is banned from Super Smash Con this weekend, here's why

As is usually the case with newly-released fighting titles, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl isn't exactly the most balance of games. This doesn't mean NASB hasn't proven to be tons of fun for those willing to put up with a little infancy jank, but there's certainly a lot of balance work that'll need to be done before the game can be taken fully seriously by tournament goers.

Developers have already rolled out a patch to in an attempt to attend to some of the most egregious issues, (though these changes have yet to hit the Nintendo Switch version of the game) but that isn't stopping the organizers behind Super Smash Con from banning one character from their Fall Fest event this weekend.

While we've seen plenty in the way of zero to death sequences and seemingly overpowered abilities, no one quite takes the cake like Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Super Smash Con tournament director, Michael Brancato, tweeted out rules for the Nick All-Star Brawl event today, most notably informing the public that Mikey will not be allowed.

One of the best players to ever pick up Super Smash Bros. Melee Adam "UGS|Armada" Lindgren has launched a video exploring the reasons why Michelangelo is currently unfit for competitive play.

"His Nair has absurd range – you fall very, very slowly. You can pretty much always convert zero-to-deaths from one grab or one nair... he's the best character, hands down," says Lindgren towards the start of his video.

He goes on to say that it literally could be the case that as many as seven of the tournament's eight finalists could be Mikey players given how powerful the character is right now. There's a good bit more to the explanation, of course, but you'll have to watch the video to hear it all.
