Street Fighter Director's latest King of Fighters 15 sketch looks like Tingle from The Legend of Zelda but also still accurate

Oh yeah he's never coming back

One of the most fun things about the character teasers for The King of Fighters 15 is the fans coming back week after week to create blatantly wrong guesses as to who's about to be announced, and this one is definitely wrong.

Street Fighter 5 Director Takayuki Nakayama recently released his newest sketch for tonight's KOF15 reveal by reviving who looks like he came straight out of The Legend of Zelda.

Unless you're way into the overlooked King of Fighters: Maximum Impact games, you'll be forgiven for not immediately recognizing the one and only Hyena.

Despite his admittedly cool name, this Tingle-looking villain is a straight up coward on the battlefield and barely made it onto the roster of the second Maximum Impact title.

Hyena's martial arts style is a bit unorthodox and tosses a deck of playing cards around, but we've already got Oswald for that — and he does the whole shtick in a much cooler fashion.

Like pretty much all original Maximum Impact fighters, he hasn't appeared in anything official since the spin-off ended over 15 years ago, and there aren't exactly man fans begging for his return any time soon.

Maybe SNK could give him a nice makeover to make Hyena relevant again in the modern era though we're not going to be hard pressed if he remains in the shadows of KOF's history.

The actual announcement coming tonight is looking like it's going to be a real crowd pleaser, but it's still funny to see Nakayama and others digging up SNK's weird past so we don't forget about people like Hyena.
