What used to be the best plans of attack in Street Fighter 5 have shifted (first time you've heard that one, we're sure) but honing in on just how to dance with the game's updated meta isn't exactly an easy process.

With V-Triggers and overwhelming offense getting nerfed a bit, room for other strategies has emerged. While we're not claiming to be experts a mere month into Season 5, we have been taking some notes on this front and have a few tips to help you out with.

Catalyst and I take some time this week trying to unpack the meta on a deeper level than ever before, and thus shed light on the facets of play that are currently most beneficial to excel at.

This means spending some time figuring out the various ways your character(s) might be able to thrive in the neutral, or perhaps looking at V-Gauge with a more holistic approach.

For example, now that the game isn't as much of a race to using V-Trigger, perhaps saving gauge simply to maintain an advantage (or the potential to thwart a robbery sequence) is the right way of going about certain situations.

We also have a few characters we think you should be on special look out for and why. Check out the full episode via the embed below or on most major podcast apps, and be sure to tell your fighting game friends about the EventHubs Podcast.
