Project L is reportedly seeking playtesters from Riot Games surveys
Will we get an announcement at Evo this year?
After years of speculation and presumptions, a League of Legends fighting game was confirmed to be in the works at Evo 2019 under the guise of Project L though things have been quiet about the title ever since.
That could be changing in the near-ish future, however, as some people are reportedly now receiving playtest surveys to come try out the fighting game in a behind-closed-doors setting.
Pro Runeterra player The Skilled Roy got his hands on the alleged email being sent to users of Riot Games' other titles in the Los Angeles, California area that his sources reportedly confirmed only contained questions pertaining to fighting games.
Valorant and Runeterra are said to have gone under similar testing invites before entering the beta phase, which means a closed or open beta test could go out in the months after whenever this playtest would occur.
That perceived timeline could line it up well with Evo 2021 for a public announcement for Project L considering the founders of the developer, Radiant Entertainment, are also the founders of the massive fighting game event as well.
There is some information, however, that points to Project L perhaps not being quite as far along in development as we'd think / hope considering they're still hiring some senior staff for the development team.
Since we have not been able to verify the contents of the surveys and Riot hasn't made any announcements, this information should be taken with a healthy grain of salt, but you can find out more in The Skilled Roy's video below.
If you live around LA though, it's probably a good idea to check your email.
