'I think I might've broke Pyra' — GimR unveils new tech for Pyra's Blazing End that could alter the character's meta in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Though Mythra is generally seen as the better character of the Pyra & Mythra duo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pyra isn't without her strong qualities. Her side special, the Blazing End, is particularly good for its ability to lock down an area with a hitbox that stays active for a long duration.

VGBC|GimR recently released a video that highlights some powerful setups that can be employed by Pyra on stages with platforms. Under the right conditions, Pyra can initiate an unavoidable kill move from a tech situation.

One weakness of Pyra's Blazing End is that she is unable to attack while its active. Once the Aegis Sword returns, Pyra must undergo a recovery animation before she can resume attacking.

However, there are ways to circumvent the recovery animation that comes with reobtaining the Aegis. In the video, GimR highlights that Pyra can actually do this by platform dropping if she is on a platform at the time.

This is particularly strong in combination with a well-timed footstool while the opponent is trapped in the Blazing End special. From here, Pyra is able to land her down aerial as she drops from the platform.

Doing this will cause the opponent to get hit if they miss their tech, tech in place or tech roll towards Pyra. Additionally, the player can also hard read into a guaranteed forward smash if the opponent techs towards or away. Considering how powerful Pyra's forward smash is, this is not a favorable position to be in at mid percents.

Once the opponent's percentage becomes high enough, the resulting spike from the down aerial will cause them to bounce high enough to land on the platform. Pyra's huge upsmash is unavoidable at this point.

There's a lot more covered about this tech in the video. Check out it below:
