Reptile keeps showing up on Ed Boon's Twitter timeline but is it a hint at Kombat Pack 3 in Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate?

There hasn't been any concrete news about Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate's DLC since the release of Mileena, Rain and Rambo of the Kombat Pack 2. As of right now, it's unknown if there will be a Kombat Pack 3, but we do know that NetherRealm Studios begun motion capture recordings for something back in late January.

If NetherRealm Studios really is working on Kombat Pack 3 for Mortal Kombat 11, then Reptile is probably one of the frontrunners due to his popularity. Notably, Reptile has been showing up on Ed Boon's Twitter timeline on a somewhat frequent basis.

Back in December 2020, Ed Boon randomly highlighted a user's video about Reptile in Kombat Pack 3. In reality, it was a video that showcased some of Shang Tsung's animations that involved Reptile.

Recently, Boon said the words "Edward Reptile Disfunction" on Twitter without any additional context. He also apparently encouraged Unrooolie to finish a cosplay that seemingly involved a Mortal Kombat ninja mask. In the attached image, Unrooolie was wearing a green and white shirt.

Of course, Unrooolie would go on to reveal that the mask would be used for a full Sub-Zero cosplay, meaning it didn't have anything to do with Reptile by itself. However, Ed Boon only highlighted the image where Unrooolie was wearing the mask with the green and white shirt.

What's interesting is that Unrooolie was apparently involved with the motion capture recording session that happened back in January. Which character could Unrooolie be portraying for NetherRealm Studios?

Most notable of all, Ed Boon recently posted an image of the 1994 Hasbro Dragon MK-1 boat toy that apparently came with a human Reptile action figure. Ed Boon noted that it "makes [him] sad" and how it was an "#OpportunisticKashIn."

Of course, it's entirely possible that this might be reading too much into Ed Boon's Twitter. Fans often do confuse his regular Tweets as being hints at future content from NetherRealm Studios.

Still, he has been known to drop subtle clues — or "actual klues" — on his timeline. If there really is a Kombat Pack 3 in the works, Reptile's chances of being included feels very strong at the moment.

With all that said, it's important to keep expectations tempered until something official is announced by NetherRealm Studios.
