Pyra & Mythra can soft lock Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in 'Century Smash' with a perfectly timed transformation

Pyra & Mythra were recently released as DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Like many other DLC characters, they apparently come with a few bugs that Nintendo should address in a future patch.

As demonstrated by EC Glaceon and Master0fHyrule, Pyra & Mythra can cause Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to become soft locked with a well timed transformation. Of course, this probably won't be too much of an issue for most players as it's only been shown to happen in a specific mode.

Century Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is basically the "100-Man Smash" mode of previous entries. It's basically a survival mode where the player must take on 100 enemies without losing their only stock.

Given, these 100 enemies are much lighter than they typically are during normal gameplay. Defeating opponents when they are at 0% damage is incredibly common during this mode.

Apparently, Pyra & Mythra can cause the game to become soft locked after beating the mode. This is triggered by using the transformation special before the game can return to the menu.

The player can still move around, but nothing will happen. Using Pyra & Mythra, the player can even jump off the stage and fall forever.

By this point, the only way to end the game is to return to the main Switch menu by pressing the home button. From here, the game will have to be reset.

Keep in mind that the timing is very specific for this to happen. Master0fHyrule reports that he was only able to get this to happen twice over two hours of attempts.
