Well, it looks like Nintendo followed through on not making their fans wait very long to try out Xenoblade Chronicles' second and third representatives in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate after all.

Pyra and Mythra are now officially available to download and use as the latest DLC fighters in Smash Ultimate alongside the Version 11.0.0 update and new Mii Figther costumes.

Similarly to Zelda and Sheik's old design, the duo can freely swap between each other while in battle to take advantage of the strengths of their separate movelists.

While they may technically share the same animations for their jabs, tilts and aerials, Pyra is meant to be the heavy hitter of the team with slower attacks that can do big time fire damage. Her side special also allows her to throw out her blade for a space controlling spin attack though it leaves her vulnerable as long as it remains away from her body.

Mythra, on the other hand, is immediately one of the fastest characters in the game with speed being the name of her game. It makes her a hard target to nail down, but Mythra's side and up specials leave her wide open for a punish if they miss the opponent.

As was the case with previous DLC characters, new Mii Fighter costumes are also included with the new update.

This includes Hunter Equipment, Rathalos Armor and a Felyne from Capcom's Monster Hunter series along with Arthur from Ghosts 'N Goblins with each being available for $.75 on the Nintendo eShop.

The new Cloud Sea of Alrest stage is available with the characters as well and features 25 songs from Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to choose from in matches.

Players can pick up Pyra and Mythra as part of the Challenger Pack 9 DLC for $5.99 USD or in the Fighter Pass Volume 2 for $29.99 which also includes the previous characters Min Min from ARMS, Steve from Minecraft and Final Fantasy 7's Sephiroth.
