NetherRealm Studios confirms that DLC for Mortal Kombat 11 is finished and they have moved onto their next project
Though many fans have speculated about the possibility of a Kombat Pack 3, NetherRealm Studios has at last put the rumors to rest with a recent Tweet. It's now confirmed that DLC for Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate has concluded.
In addition, NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that they are working on their next project, whatever that may be.
"NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project and after more than two years of supporting Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including characters, has come to an end," said NetherRealm Studios on Twitter.

The end of Mortal Kombat 11's post launch development means that the roster will not expand beyond the 37 characters that are currently playable. Characters in Mortal Kombat 11 include the Joker, Spawn, Terminator, RoboCop, Baraka, Cetrion, Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung and many more.
The last set of characters released for Mortal Kombat 11 were Mileena, Rain and Rambo back in November 2020 via the Kombat Pack 2.
Mortal Kombat 11 originally released on April 23, 2019 and has received DLC content for about two years. As such, Mortal Kombat 11 currently stands as the NetherRealm Studios game that has had the most post launch support.
While there were many rumors and anomalies that suggested that Ash Williams would become a playable character, this did not come to pass for whatever reason. We may never have official confirmation regarding the validity of the rumors surrounding Ash Williams in a Mortal Kombat title.
A few fan favorites like Reptile, Smoke, Cyrax and Sektor are also notably absent from Mortal Kombat 11's roster. It appears that fans will simply have to wait until the next Mortal Kombat entry before getting a chance to reunite with these particular combatants.
Back in late January, it was reported that NetherRealm Studios had begun working on something that involved motion capture recording. With NetherRealm Studios now disconfirming any future content for Mortal Kombat 11, it's now heavily implied that this is for a brand new game.
Circulating rumors suggest that NetherRealm Studios could be working on something that involves the Marvel Comics IP. Could we finally see a D.C. Comics vs. Marvel Comics game come to fruition?
Another possibility suggests that NetherRealm Studios is currently working on the third entry of the Injustice series. It would certainly be interesting to see how things continue after the multiple endings seen at the conclusion of Injustice 2's main story.
Ultimately though, it does sound like we're a long ways away from an official announcement regarding the details of NetherRealm Studios' next project. Still, getting confirmation that DLC has officially concluded for Mortal Kombat 11 is nice to have.
