Recreating Mortal Kombat 11's Fatalities with the lowest budget possible is something I never knew I wanted
Fatalities help put Mortal Kombat on the map in the early '90s with their hidden inputs and their brutal levels of violence that we certainly weren't supposed to emulate in real life, but what if we did in the cheapest way possible?
Well, Nigerian video maker Ayo The Creator recently took on such a task by putting together a 'Zero Budget Fatality' by recreating Jax's Fatal Blow and finisher from Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate shot-for-shot with the level of props and editing one would expect with such a name — like a pringles can in place of the bomb.
Since you can't exactly have metal arms on no budget, the Jax standin has his arms painted white while punching the crap out of his friend who spits out water instead of blood.
The aforementioned Pringles can comes in for the Fatality strapped to the creator's back with electrical tape that actually does flash before exploding with a stock fire effect that sends him flying in for the final hit.
He still gets punched in half as a still image though the guts and gore are replaced with what looks to be the contents of his last meal comically floating around.
Series co-creator Ed Boon and other members of NetherRealm Studios took notice and praised the video's creativity and fun nature, so Ayo is planning to make more parodies in the future which I could certainly get behind.
