Arc System Works producer comments on strength of Guilty Gear Strive's rollback netcode, will include online training mode

Hopefully we'll found out for ourselves soon

Guilty Gear Strive saw some new information hit the stage earlier this week with a trailer showing off the various modes that'll be available upon release, and now there's even more details to sink our teeth into.

The official website for the upcoming fighting game has also seen some updates detailing its online modes while an Arc System Works producer also commented on some of the internal tests they've performed with its rollback netcode.

One of the more interesting pieces listed for the online breakdown is that it states Strive uses the same type of network players have been enjoying in Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, which saw a rollback netcode update hit the Steam version of the game late last year.

That led some to question whether the code would be the exact same between the too, but that's understandably not the case.

ArcSys Producer Zack Shini provided a small clarification on Twitter to say that they're both basically just using rollback.

What's interesting though is he also says that they've had players test the network features between Japan and North America, which is apparently producing good results for the team.

Players had been wondering how Strive's online would perform considering ArcSys has never internally developed a game with rollback though this is hopefully a promising sign of things to come.

Strive's website also confirms there will be an outdoor floor for their lobbies, so players of all skill levels can join instead of being sectioned off by performance.

The game will include a feature that many in the community are going to greatly appreciate which is an online training mode that's become something of a rarity this past generation.

An open beta is scheduled to come some time over the next few months so players can test out Strive's rollback for themselves though no dates for that have been set at this time.

Guilty Gear Strive is set to release on April 9 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC with Deluxe and Ultimate Edition buyers getting two-day early access to the game.
