Kage player pulls off the cleanest counter to Alex's V-Trigger in this slick Street Fighter 5 dodge

Sometimes Alex will reach deep down and momentarily feel like he's risen up from scraping the bottom of the Street Fighter 5 barrel as he manages a high profile comeback series with his V-Trigger 1 parry. This isn't one of those times.

In a quick clip that's currently making the rounds on Twitter, Japanese Kage player Meramera-fire has clearly been on the wrong end of an Alex V-Trigger comeback, and had some counter tech lying in wait so as to ensure his opponent would remember his place as Street Fighter 5's weakest roster member.

Everything that plays out here makes enough sense, especially after you've already seen it, but you're almost certain to get a chuckle out of your first time viewing it as the surprising evasion is just so damn satisfying.

After thwarting a jump-in roundhouse with a crouching medium punch (sorry again, Alex) Mera continues sending normals in his opponent's direction.

Fighting hand to hand with an Alex with an V-Trigger is usually ill-advised, but Mera is actually hoping to get his foe to bite with a parry. Said bite eventually comes and... we won't spoil exactly how things play out.
