Man, you could do some nutty combos in Street Fighter 3: New Generation that weren't possible in Third Strike
Like a 65-hit touch of death against Gill
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike remains one of the most well-regarded fighting games of all time though we never would have reached that peak if we didn't go through New Generation and Second Impact first.
Recently a player by the name of Velocity showcased some cool New Generations tech like her 65-hit combo against Gill that could theoretically become an infinite.
The combo in question involves Ryu jumping in with a string into Shin Shoryuken which almost stuns Gill immediately, but some juggling jumping heavy punches change that pretty quick.
As for the continuation, Ryu can loop the setup as long as he builds meter for another Super that Velocity does for almost 50 seconds straight.
What allows all of this to be possible is the ability to restand Gill and continue the string though apparently it can only be done against the boss in that game.
Sure there may not be EX moves or throw techs yet, but boy could New Generation still be flashy... and pump out a ton of damage.
