Volleyball mode added to Super Smash Bros. Melee thanks to mod

Although Super Smash Bros. Melee is nearly 20 years old at this point, fans are still modding the GameCube classic. Team Akaneia recently released a new build of Super Smash Bros. Melee that has a never-before-seen mode added to the game.

Using any of the 26 playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee, players can compete against one another in a volleyball mode. As expected, this new game mode plays very similar to the volleyball sport.

Once the game starts, a ball will be spawned. This ball is affected by gravity and can be launched with character attacks.

The goal is to get the ball to touch the opponent's floor. Both characters are separated by a net.

Unlike traditional volleyball, it's not possible to hit the ball out-of-bounds. Should the ball touch either wall, it will simply bounce off and remain in play.
