Sephiroth is top tier according to Tweek but the character takes a lot of work to be successful with in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Sephiroth is the latest challenger to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's 83-fighter roster. Players are beginning to come to their own conclusions on just how viable the Final Fantasy antagonist is in the overall meta.

TSM|Tweek recently released a video that has him talking about his opinions on the One-Winged Angel. At the very end, he concludes that Sephiroth is among the top tiers.

While Sephiroth is declared to be top tier, Tweek is adamant that this is a combatant that requires a lot of work to be successful with. At one point, the professional player states that those that don't think of him as a top tier might just be inexperienced in his match ups.

The Final Fantasy 7 villain's toolkit feels very well-rounded, so he's not completely shut down in match ups where certain tools don't work as well. For example, while Sephiroth's Shadow Flare is a versatile projectile, he doesn't necessarily need to use it against those that can absorb or reflect the side special.

Sephiroth's counter is said to be befitting of a DLC character as it has some ridiculous properties. Not only is the hitbox massive when triggered, but it also deals a ton of damage back to the attacker. Indeed, this definitely seems like one of the game's better counter specials.

It's also noted that Sephiroth might be better in an offline environment due to the fact that players must rely on their reactions with him. Though Sephiroth is a powerful fighter, his attacks to be on the slower side.
