The King of Fighters 14: Ultimate Edition announced and releases later this month, available now in Europe
Still no Switch or Xbox versions
Fans of The King of Fighters series were disappointed to say the least when SNK announced that their planned KOF15 reveal had been delayed at the last minute, but there was still technically an announcement from the company last night.
SNK revealed a trailer for The King of Fighters 14: Ultimate Edition, which is already available in Europe right now, and appears to be another PlayStation 4 exclusive version of the game.
Ultimate Edition is said to offer the complete experience for KOF fans / those looking to jump into the franchise by including all prior DLC.
There's the eight post-launch characters that came to KOF14 with Blue Mary, Yamazaki, Whip, Oswald, Vanessa, Heidern, Najd and Rock Howard.
The new version of the game also comes with the 10 DLC costumes for Kyo, Kula, Geese, Athena, Shun'ei, Iori and others along with 10 PS4 themes.
Somewhat surprisingly, Ultimate Edition appears to only be for PS4 when SNK previously showed a graphic all the way back at the end of 2018 during an investor meeting, the same one where KOF15 was said to be in development, which listed KOF14 with Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions that have never materialized.
Considering the new trailer includes the text "rekindle your fighting passion as we inch closer to KOF15," this reveal was likely to coincide with the other announcements scheduled for January 6.
No mention of any other adjustments or improvements for the fighting game that first released in 2016.
Those in Europe can pick up Ultimate Edition now for 39,99 € which will likely equate to $40 USD when it launches on January 20.
Europe will also be receiving a physical version of the new bundle this spring as well.
