Sephiroth dishes out over 59,000 damage with a single Giga Flare in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

It'll never ever happen in a match but it's still cool

Sephiroth is of course one of the most iconic villains in video game history, so it seems only fitting that he'd also end up as the character with the highest damage potential in all of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Content creators Nintendo Unity recently put together a video detailing how Sephiroth's Giga Flare, which normally does 47 percent damage, can be buffed by over a dozen different multipliers to increase that number above a whopping 59,000.

This unheard of amount of an impact is achieved through the use of items, Spirits, stage hazards, Assist Trophies and some exploitation of a few menu options many players have probably never touched before.

The biggest boost in damage actually comes from the Vince Assist Trophy considering it multiplies damage under his painting by three which also stacks / combines with Sephiroth's own winged form buff, Franklin Badges for reflection multipliers, as well as the Dark Emperor from the Find Mii stage — who apparently can give a 1.78 times damage increase himself.

Giga Flare to the absolute maximum also needs to be performed against Shulk, since his Buster art makes him take 1.3 times damage from incoming attacks, plus Sephiroth has to be boosted in the Custom Balance options too.

What really pushes the neutral special over the edge is the fact that it technically hits multiple times at full charge, so the combined multipliers lead to a bunch of hits that deal over 5,000 percent each before the final explosion deals over 16,000 for a grand total of 59,275 percent.

Something that's extra nuts is that Sephiroth can probably reach over 100,000 damage if he hits the final Giga Flare reflect with the Home Run Bat, but that wasn't factored into the set up here since that would technically require the Final Fantasy villain to perform a second attack.

If you want to get your mind blown like Shulk's health bar by Smash science, we highly suggest taking a look at Nintendo Unity's full video below going over the step-by-step process.
