Granblue Fantasy Versus 2.40 Patch Notes released

Update: This story now has fully translated patch notes for every character in the game (Djeeta and Belial received no changes).

The 2.40 patch for Granblue Fantasy Versus is set to go live tomorrow, February 24th.

We've gotten all of the notes for the content in the upcoming patch one day early, though they're in Japanese on the official site. Thankfully, I've been able to translate them for you so peruse the changes at your leisure below.

General Content

• Story chapters 46-50 added to the game's RPG mode.

• New weapons added to the game's RPG mode.

• New story quests added to the game's RPG mode.

• New titles added to profile.

• Battle pass progress can now be viewed on the results screen.

• Skybound Arts and Super Skybound Arts minimum guaranteed damage as well as chip damage have overall been adjusted to minimize the gap between characters.

Gran

Reginleiv
- After launching the projectile, the recovery time on the ability icon will now be shorter.
- The active frames on the moves have been reduced. You will now be able to fire another projectile faster after it misses as well.

Medium Rising Sword
- Will now move further forward before the move's second hit.

Light Overdrive Surge (Followup)
- Startup is now faster. The overall move time is therefore shorter.

Catastrophe (Easy Input)
- The lowest guaranteed damage has been decreased from 1050 to 900 (there has been no change to the Technical Input version).

Katalina

Far Standing Light
- The recovery as well as the hitstun/blockstun on it has been decreased. As a result, the move is now shorter.
- The hitbox on the very start of the move has been enlarged forward.

Jumping Light
- The hitbox behind Katalina has been enlarged.

Medium Enchanted Lands
- Increased the distance Katalina travels backwards in the startup of the move.
- Increased the distance Katalina travels forward during the move, meaning there has been no change in the overall range of the attack.

Realm of Ice
- The lowest guaranteed damage has been increased from 825 to 900 on the Easy Input version and from 1275 to 1350 on the Technical Input version.

Charlotta

EX Shining Onslaught
- Decreased the pushback distance, leaving Charlotta closer to the opponent on both hit and block.

Medium Noble Strategy
- The rising portion of the attack is now faster. The timing at which Charlotta is considered airborne as well as the timing in which she can execute followups is now faster.
- From the start of the move until Charlotta chooses her followup move she will no longer fly over standing opponents to the other side.

EX Noble Strategy
- From the start of the move until Charlotta chooses her followup move she will no longer fly over standing opponents to the other side.

Light or Medium Noble Strategy to With Surest Strike!
- The opponent will now be sent flying higher on counter hit.

With Sweetest Skills!
- Can now connect on opponents in hitstun as well.
- The timing in which it can be activated from any version of Noble Strategy is now earlier, and the startup on the throw itself is now faster.
- Active frames have been increased.

Lancelot

Wogenstrom
- The ability icon's recovery time is now longer.

Blade Impulse
- The ability icon's recovery time is now longer.

Weiss Flugel
- Will now go into animation even when hitting at a far distance.
- Fixed an issue where the startup was slightly slower than intended at specific ranges.

Percival

Anzünden
- The ability icon's recovery time is faster after the projectile has been fired.

Medium Lord's Strike to Schneiden (Träumerei Version)
- Opponents will now be sent flying higher on counter hit.

Lohenwolf
- Chip damage has been increased. Easy Input version has been increased from 250 damage to 400 damage while the Technical Input version has been increased from 300 damage to 500 damage.

Feuerrote Krone (Technical Input)
- Lowest guaranteed damage has been increased from 1160 to 1440 when doing the fully charged version. The Easy Input version has not been changed.

Ladiva

Close Standing Medium
- Damage has been increased from 700 to 800.

Far Standing Heavy
- Recovery and hitstun/blockstun on it has been decreased. As a result, the overall move is now shorter.

Crouching Heavy
- Damage has been increased from 500+500 to 600+500.

Jumping Light
- Damage has been increased from 400 to 500.

Jumping Medium
- Damage has been increased from 600 to 700.

Light Devoted Body Slam
- Damage has been increased from 1200 to 1500.

Maximum Love Bomb (Strike)
- Damage on the Easy Input version has been decreased from 3500 to 3300. Damage on the Technical Input version has been increased from 3500 to 3600.
- The chip damage has been increased on the Easy Input version from 350 to 400 and on the Technical Input version from 400 to 500.

Metera

Rapid Pulverize
- On both hit and block, the final arrow will move further forward behind the opponent before disappering, making it more likely to detonate Aetherial Seals that may be placed on or close to the opponent at the time of activation.

Rapid Pulverize (Easy Input version)
- Chip damage has been increased from 450 to 550 (there has been no change to the Technical Input version).

Lowain

Far Standing Light
- The forward hitbox has been enlarged.

Close Standing Heavy
- The forward hitbox has been enlarged, making it less likely to whiff on opponents when close proximity has been triggered.

Ferry

Close Standing Light
- Made the proximity for the close version to trigger smaller.

Crouching Heavy
- Can now be air blocked.

Ghostswing
- Landing recovery when on an empty Ghostswing has been increased. There has been no change to landing recovery if she uses a move during it.

Light Beppo, Sic' Em!
- The opponent will now be in hitstun for a shorter time when hit airborne by this move.
- Will send the opponent flying higher up when it hits.

Medium Beppo, Sic' Em!
- The opponent will now be in hitstun for a shorter time when hit airborne by this move.
- Will bring the opponent closer than before when it hits.

Geegee, Get 'Em!
- Fixed an issue where sometimes its ability icon would recover during Vergiften's startup animation instead of being frozen as intended.

Vergiften
- The first four hits will now send the opponent flying a shorter distance, making it easier for the fifth hit to connect.

Aetheryte Requiescat
- Chip damage on Easy Input has been increased from 360 to 450 while chip damage on Technical Input has been increased from 450 to 540.
- The post-flash startup is now slower. As a result, the overall move is now longer.
- When hitting at far distances, the move will no longer have invulnerability during the strike animation.

Zeta

Crouching Medium
- Increased the hurtbox on the lower part of the spear.

EX Spear of Arvess
- The ability icon's recovery time is now longer.

EX Spear of Arvess (Rise)
- The ability icon's recovery time is now longer.

EX Spear of Arvess (Fall)
- The ability icon's recovery time is now longer.

Rhapsody
- Removed the throw invulnerability from the move's startup.

Vaseraga

Bloody Moon (Technical Input)
- Vaseraga now has more advantageous frames after the close hit animation ends (there has been no change to the Easy Input version).

Beelzebub

Autocombo Followup #1
- Fixed an issue where during clashes, if Beelzebub keeps pressing his normal button, instead of getting a close normal Beelzebub will now instead get his Autocombo Followup #2 just like all the other characters in the game do.

Black Spear
- Black Flies will no longer move forward during this move, fixing an issue where Beelzebub would be unable to block after the move.

Chaos Legion
- Black Flies will no longer move forward during this move, fixing an issue where Beelzebub would be unable to block after the move.

Narmaya

Setsuna
- Fixed an issue where if the opponent was at a far distance when the move was input, they would not register as a close hit even if they moved close enough during the move's startup. This move will now register close or far hits based on when it hits or is guarded instead of during its startup.

Medium Kyokasuigetsu (During Transient)
- There was an issue where pressing down, medium and ability at the same time would give you the Medium version of Kyokasuigetsu, but if you only pressed medium and ability at the same time you would instead get the light version. This has been fixed so that pressing medium and ability at the same time will correctly give you the medium version of Kyokasuigetsu.

One Hundred Cloudscapes
- Chip damage on the Easy Input version has been decreased from 800 to 400. The Technical Version's chip damage has been decreased from 1000 to 500.

Soriz

Far Standing Light
- The recovery and hitstun/blockstun has been decreased. As a result, the overall move is now shorter.

Reactive Muscles
- The distance opponents are sent flying on an airborne hit is shorter, making it less likely for them to recovery in the air.

Roundhouse Fang (Easy Input)
- You will now be able to get this move out with a 9 or 3 input instead of just a 6 input (in situations where Rock Smash is not possible). No changes have been made to the Technical Input version.

Light Roundhouse Fang
- Active frames have been increased.
- Recovery has been decreased. Combined with the above change, this results in the overall duration of the move remaining unchanged.

Medium Punch the Stars
- Startup is now faster. The overall duration of the move is therefore shorter.

Medium Rock Smash
- Startup is now faster. The overall duration of the move is therefore shorter.

Zooey

Far Standing Light
- The recovery and hitstun/blockstun has been decreased. As a result, the overall move is now shorter.

Far Standing Heavy
- The startup is now faster. As a result, the overall move is now shorter.

Crouching Medium
- The hurtbox on the lower part of the sword has been enlarged.

Crouching Unique (Sweep)
- The startup is now faster. As a result, the overall move is now shorter.

Summon Dragon (Immortal Thrust)
- Now consumes less Wyvern Gauge.
- The startup is now faster. There has been no change to the overall duration of the move.
- The projectile speed on the Wyvern is now faster. The distance travelled by said Wyvern has not been changed.
- Because of the startup now being faster, the frame advantage became worse. To address this, the hitstun and blockstun on the move is now longer, so her overall frame advantage should not be affected.
- The opponent will now be sent airborne by this move on counter hit.

Spinning Slash
- The upper hitbox has been enlarged.

Light and Medium Spinning Slash
- The opponent will now be in hitstun longer when hit airborne by this move.

Light and Medium Spinning Slash to Bisection
- The opponent will now be in hitstun longer when hit airborne by this move.

Cagliostro

Far Standing Light
- Recovery and hitstun/blockstun on the move is now shorter. The overall move duration is now shorter as a result.

Collapse (Conjure)
- When the Collapse projectile exists, you will no longer get Collapse (Conjure) when inputting Collapse (Fire).

Grounded Collapse (Conjure)
- The charge time for each level is now shorter.

Grounded Collapse (Fire / Highest Charge)
- The projectile now moves slower and has more active frames then before.

Calculated
- The timing in which this move will track the opponent's position now happens later in the move.

EX Calculated
- The scope in which this move tracks the opponent's position is now larger.

Yuel

Far Standing Medium
- When Yuel presses this button and the opponent is holding the 4 direction (backwards) they will no longer enter a block pose instantly, but instead keep walking backwards.
- The upwards hitbox on the first hit has been decreased, putting it in line with the hitbox of the second hit of the move.
- The upwards hurtbox of the first hit once its active frames begin has been decreased.
- The second hit's active frames have been decreased.
- Recovery has been increased. THe move's overall duration is now longer as a result.

Far Standing Heavy
- The upwards hitbox has been decreased.

Crimson Dance: Rinnen-aratame
- Will now go into animation even when hitting at a far distance.

Anre

Rakshasa
- Fixed an issue where Anre would sometimes not get any super meter when using the move.

Spiral Spear (Easy Input)
- You will now be able to get this move out with a 9 or 3 input instead of just a 6 input (in situations where Fleeting Spark is not possible). No changes have been made to the Technical Input version.

Mantra Wheel
- Fixed an issue where Anre would sometimes not get any super meter when using the move.

Fleeting Spark
- Fixed an issue where Anre would sometimes not get any super meter when using the move.
