While most players are focused in on playing Guilty Gear Strive's open beta before it ends this weekend, there's still another piece of excitement for fans to look forward to.

Arc System Works has confirmed that they will be revealing the final character of Strive's base roster tonight during the second Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream.

"The announcement of Guilty Gear Strive's 15th playable character is also coming," reads the official Guilty Gear account's tweet in part.

There's still plenty of series favorites who haven't made the cut yet, so the possibilities are quite extensive though all hope is not lost if your favorite isn't shown.

Xrd mainstays like I-No, Baiken, Elphelt, Jam and Dizzy are not yet present in Strive though they could also pull from earlier entries with popular picks like Bridget, Testament or Justice for starters.

ArcSys may also go the way of introducing a third newcomer alongside nagoriyuki and Giovanna though others are speculating it could be time to see one of the characters who's been around since the original title.

More fighters are also coming after Strive launches with five announced so far as being part of the Season Pass 1.

The buzz around Guilty Gear's new rollback netcode has been near universally praised at this point, but that only applies for those that have managed to get in since the beta has seen numerous server issues over the past few days.

It's scheduled to close tomorrow morning, but we could see an extension with ArcSys wanting to compensate players for the downtime faced during the open beta.

Those looking to see the leaders of the Japanese fighting game scene sit down and talk to each other can do so tonight starting at 9 p.m. PT tonight along with the Guilty Gear and other probable reveals incoming as well.
