A suspicious Street Fighter portal has opened up in Fortnite

Fortnite, one of the most popular games on the planet, looks to have teased its next major crossover as a mysterious portal opened up on the game's massive island, through which a very familiar fighting game setting peeks.

From Travis Scott to Deadpool, the Mandalorian to Predator, Epic's battle royale has seen plenty of crossovers already. A player by the name of Perfect Score has shared some video footage of the aforementioned portal that reveals a glimpse Ryu's iconic Suzaku Castle stage.

Fortnite users can go and observe this rift for themselves right now as it's currently sitting a little southwest of Sweaty Sands. Players who come close can hear a faint rendition of Ryu's classic Street Fighter 2 theme, but attempting to run into the portal will simply result in it dissipating until the player moves far enough away again.

Given the visual in the hint, as well as the fact that Ryu's is Street Fighter's most recognizable face, it wouldn't be a bad bet to guess that the shoe-less fighter will be part of whatever is en route to Fortnite.

Previous crossovers have varied in nature, and so we can't be certain of exactly what kind of content is coming. Street Fighter-themed skins for players to use, weapons that shoot Hadokens, or perhaps an entire chunk of the map devoted to the iconic fighting game franchise (similar to the Deadpool yacht from last year) could manifest.

Check out the portal via the footage below from Perfect Score and let us know in the comments what you think will come to fruition from all of this.

Thank you to Trelyx for the submission.
