This silly Giovanna infinite combo in Guilty Gear Strive needs to be taken out of the game by launch day

You already kind of don't want infinite combos in your fighting games, but you especially don't want infinite combos that are made up of simple, two-attack loops that achieve nothing except to put a hard stop on the action.

That's, unfortunately, exactly what the Guilty Gear Strive community has discovered in the game's latest beta with franchise newcomer Giovanna.

The good news is that we're still more than a month out from Strive's April 9 release date, and so the development team should have a relatively easy time nipping this sequence (and any others like it) in the bud before then.

As shown off by UriFGC on Twitter, Giovanna can launch her opponent with a quick series and then begin juggling them with a relatively simple "S, 214S" loop thereafter. While this isn't the only infinite players have already unearthed in the Strive beta, most of the others propel the victim horizontally forward and thus the game's breakaway walls tend to limit just how long the beat downs last.

Since Giovanna merely pops her foe up and juggles them, she can keep this going until the timer runs out. While perhaps not the easiest sequence to perform, it does seem very much doable with just a bit of practice, and that's a problem as it threatens to quickly devolve Giovanna matches if left unchecked.

While there's already reason enough to make sure this doesn't make it to launch day, the whole thing is actually quite boring even to watch. These kinds of combos can often be hype for various reasons, but even the growing hit counter doesn't do much to get us excited while watching.

At least you could Burst out of it and maybe have enough time to sit there and wait for it to recharge again too.
