Nagoriyuki isn't the romantic vampire type like Slayer but the Guilty Gear Strive newcomer loves blood so much that it can kill him

Drink up but don't rage out unless you want to

Nagoriyuki was one of the first characters Arc System Works showed for Guilty Gear Strive, but his identity and fighting style would remain a mystery for an entire year after.

Now, we all finally get the chance to see just how the giant samurai vampire does real battle in his starter guide video displaying all of his special moves and unique Blood gauge.

Though it's not quite apples to apples, Nagoriyuki is something of a task fighter like Sin where he needs to almost constantly manage and pay attention to his character-specific meter — lest he meet a fast and unfortunate end.

When the Blood Gauge fills after using too many specials or other requirements, Nagoriyuki will enter a Blood Rage state where his Slash and Heavy Slash hit harder and farther.

Plus, it gives him access to a unique Super called Zansetsu — which is pretty much a full-screen slash that does like 50 percent health raw damage.

These powers come at a steep price, however, as his health drains rapidly in this state and can't perform any other special until its cancelled with a Zansetsu or a period of time.

He has a command grab that absorbs health from the opponent ,aptly named the same as Slayer's Bloodsucking Universe, to try and help make up for those costs since it helps bring down his meter after taking a bite.

Also like Guilty Gear's other vampire, Nagoriyuki can essentially teleport with his dashes, but they'll require motion inputs and fill up his blood meter when used.

Overall, Nagoriyuki appears to have a stronger combo game, outside of Blood Rage, than many probably expected with some specials leading into one another along with extensions he can get by dashing to rack up some Samurai Shodown-esque damage.

Those looking to see if they can keep Nagoriyuki's thirst quenched have less than a week to wait now with the open beta starting up here quite soon.
