Street Fighter 5 Winter Update showcases Dan, Rose, V-Shift mechanic, and more Season 5 content en route
Street Fighter 5 fans have been looking forward to today for some time now as Capcom is, after six months, unveiling new information about the game's fifth and final season of DLC content.
With Dan Hibiki slated to drop later this month, suspicions that we may see an official character trailer are surely in large supply. We also know that we'll be hearing more about Rose and updates to the game's battle systems, but recent developments have fans expecting even more.
Capcom posted a cryptic tweet on Tuesday seemingly hinting at a new character, Eleven, who might be revealed as the mysterious fifth DLC figure for Season 5. Eleven is very similar to the character Twelve from Street Fighter 3, appears in SF5's story modes, and has shapeshifting abilities.
We've known since the initial Season 5 reveal that a new Battle Mechanic is en route for the game and scheduled to drop simultaneously with Dan. We heard more recently the plural "mechanics" used by Capcom with regards to this update, so there could be more than one, but we should also point out that this discrepancy may chalk up to an error in translation from Japanese to English.
Celebrity guest DJ Steve Aoki is set to help add some flair and flavor to today's showcase, as well as perhaps to deliver some of the juicy new information a la the way professional wrestler Kenny Omega did back in the August reveal.
Today's stream is slated to kick off at 9 a.m. Pacific Time on Capcom Fighters. If it's anything like the Summer Update, it should run for about 30-45 minutes and give us a ton to talk about.
