New Tekken 7 information likely coming later this month says producer, persistent fans are already spamming for Christie

Tekken 7 fired into its official season 4 back in early November of last year and added new attacks, improvements to online play, balance changes, and a new character. Since the launch of that update — and a quick follow up patch that hit two weeks later — we really haven't heard too much from Bandai Namco on the Tekken front.

Producer on the title, Michael Murray, took to Twitter last night to assure fans that the wait for new information on Tekken 7 is coming to an end soon. In fact, we can expect to hear something later this month.

"Good morning everyone! I know we have been pretty quiet recently, and you guys are waiting anxiously for info," Murray started on Twitter. "Should have something for you all later this month :)"

As it stands right now, Tekken 7 Season 4 has added DLC character Kunimitsu, as well as her Vermillion Gates stage. Fans have also been able to enjoy an updated user interface for the game, better online play, new attacks for every character on the roster, and updated game balance.

In terms of what's to come, this season still holds another DLC character and stage that are yet to be revealed. While Kunimitsu and her backdrop were slated for a Fall 2020 release (and saw a release in November), the next batch of content is slated for a Spring 2021 launch.

Much like we see whenever NetherRealm Studios' Ed Boon tweets about anything, fans were quick to jump all over Murray's tweet and flood the comments with character requests. Instead of a diverse range of choices, however, there was a glaringly popular choice here: Christie Monteiro.

Response tweets with videos, GIFs, and images of the Tekken 4 alum quickly populated the thread, so much so that the producer took notice and sent out a couple of follow up tweets on the matter.

"A bunch of new followers. A bunch of new Christie tweets. Coincidence? Lol" wrote Murray. Despite being understandably annoyed by the Christie spam, Murray went on to say that he's actually a fan of hers.

"Tekken 4 was the first one I worked on, and I actually like Christie :) Not a fan of spam though tbh," Murray concluded.

Christie is a Capoeira fighter in the Tekken series. She hails from Brazil and was taught the art of her fighting style by her grandfather, who also trained Eddy Gordo in Capoeira.

The last time we saw Christie in a main Tekken title was back in 2009 with Tekken 6, however, she also made an appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (2011) and the free-to-play PlayStation 3 title Tekken Revolution (2013). Christie has been in every main Tekken game from Tekken 4 and on, but she has yet to return in Tekken 7.

We don't know if Christie will grace the latest entry of the King of the Iron Fist tournament with her presence, but we should be finding out one way or the other here in February.
