Arc System Works is (guilty) gearing up for another beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. On February 18, the masses will be able to try their hand at the game and several of its modes before it launches on April 9.

The company released details on the upcoming test this morning, sharing specifics of what all players will be able to access with the beta and when it'll go live. Those who pre-order the digital version of the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will be given the chance to play the beta a day earlier than everyone else.

"The #GuiltyGearStrive Open Beta Test will be available on #PS4 & #PS5 from 7pm PST on 2/18 to 6:59am PST on 2/21," Arc System Works said on Twitter. "Players who pre-order digitally will be able to download the Open Beta a day early on 2/17 at 10:00am PST, and start playing from 7:00pm PST."

Those who opt to hop into the beta will be able to play as 13 of the 15 launch characters for Guilty Gear Strive. Anji Mito will not be accessible here, nor will the 15th fighter.

In terms of modes, Arc System Works is actually giving players the opportunity to try out quite a few of them. The Strive beta will feature local versus mode, tutorial, training mode, and network mode.

The beta's online bouts will be played using rollback netcode, and ArcSys notes that you will be able to enjoy matches with "responsiveness comparable to offline matches."

Included on-screen during beta matches will be a couple of numbers at the top that indicate both ping time and the number of rollback frames that are surfacing during a match. The company encourages beta testers to include the two numbers they see at the top of their screen when reporting issues with the online experience to better identify problems and improve the experience for launch.
