Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Winter Update to showcase Dan, new battle mechanic and more next week
Getting in there before finals
Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition players have been waiting to see more of what Season 5 will have to offer in terms of DLC characters and new features with the wait apparently coming to an end quite soon.
Capcom announced this morning they will be hosting a Winter Update to showcase Dan Hibiki, the new battle mechanic for Street Fighter 5 and more next week.
The big reveal stream will be taking place next Thursday, February 11, at 9 a.m. PT on the Capcom Fighters Twitch, YouTube and Facebook channels.
SF5's development team will be presenting what is soon be coming to the game which means we'll probably get to see director Takayuki Nakayama and producer Shuhei Matsumoto similarly to the Summer Update and Tokyo Game Show 2020.
The last update we received on this matter came about back in mid December when Matsumoto revealed that Dan would be arriving in February of 2021 after many fans had been expecting to see the DLC character before the end of the year..
Capcom has shown a good bit of Dan's moveset already between previous events though we still have yet to see how his V-Triggers and Critical Art(s) will perform along with how everything will function for a game plan when all put together.

Season 5's new battle mechanic has remained a complete mystery for essentially six months now with fans left wondering if it'll focus on offensive or defensive skills.
The mention of eSports news also likely means the Capcom Pro Tour will be coming back in some form this year though it will almost assuredly be another online affair.
Perhaps we could also finally hear more about the Intel World Open that was originally supposed to take place last year to tie into the Tokyo Olympics before being put on hold.
These reveals were probably meant to come during Capcom Cup at towards the end of the month, but they were forced to cancel the event due to ongoing coronavirus concerns.
In its stead, the publisher will be running an online Capcom Pro Tour 2020 Season Final that will include 12 1v1 matches between the previously qualified players plus a few more invitees.
Alongside Dan and the battle mechanic will come a selection of new costumes, including the fan design winners, and a new balance update for the first time in over a year.
As for their release date, Capcom will at least need to wait until after the CPT finals on February 21 considering it'd completely change the game for the event if done any earlier.
With Rose's release scheduled for sometime this Spring, it'd certainly be nice to see her reveal trailer or some new info during either of the events this month although at least there's quite a bit to look forward to in the coming weeks already.
