At the Granblue Fantasy Festival taking place this weekend, there was of course some news for Granblue Fantasy Versus present.

First of all, there was a trailer for the already announced character Vira which revealed her release date as December 14th, but it also had more surprises included.

Besides Vira, the trailer also showed the next character as Avatar Belial, a superpowered form of the character Belial who fights differently from the original one.

For more details on Vira you can refer to when her details were shown a few weeks ago, as for Avatar Belial, he was described as a character with extremely powerful offense but much lower defense than most characters in the game and explained as "can actually die from one combo, but his damage makes up for it", making him sound like a very scary prospect indeed.

It was also stated that Avatar Belial pays with HP for doing EX moves, but in exchange his cooldowns on them are lower than for most other characters. The developers also noted that Avatar Belial, who already appears as a boss in RPG mode, was meant to only be used as a boss character in single player modes, but they ended up converting him into a playable character.

They also announced two new versions of Granblue Fantasy Versus for purchase, one being a "Greatest Hits" edition which will be a heavily discounted version of the launch game. There will also be a full-priced special version called the "Legendary Edition" which includes all of the Season 1 and Season 2 characters as well as Vira and Avatar Belial.

It was also announced that a humorous side character from the main games, Lunalu, will be joining the game as something of a Mokujin-type character from Tekken, where your character changes every round. Lunalu herself won't do any fighting, but she will sketch new characters every round which come to life, so for people who believe themselves to be multi-character masters, she's a perfect pick.

It was also stated that a poll will be held for players to vote for what characters they want to be added to the game in the future, so if there's any Granblue character you've been missing you will have the opportunity to vote for them and hopefully see them added in the future.

They also announced that a third GBVS CyGames Cup will be held on the 6th of February 2022 and that a new big cash prize tournament to be announced at a later date will be happening during Spring of 2021.
