Sony's new PlayStation 5 Showcase is coming next week and maybe we'll see a next gen fighting game

We'll finally know the price then? Right?

Microsoft had a busy week with the company revealing the Xbox Series S in its entirety plus the price and release date for both the digital console and the flagship Series X over the past few days.

Now the world may know when Sony will fire back their own tags and launches for the PlayStation 5 considering they just announced a showcase event taking place next Wednesday, September 16.

The new PS5 showcase will last around 40 minutes in total where they plan to reveal more about their launch line up and beyond in exclusive games plus other next gen titles.

Though Sony didn't exactly confirm they will finally let the public know what they'll have to fork over to get their hands on the new piece of hardware, it seems like a likely event considering Microsoft's plan to go first this week.

Of course, there's been plenty of rumors and potential price leaks floating around for the PlayStation 5, but all we know is that it'll probably cost between $500 and $600 USD for the standard model.

Microsoft's Xbox Series X will be priced at $500 while the disc-less and less-powerful Series S option will cost prospective owners just $300 for next gen hardware.

Hopefully we could see another next gen fighting game title considering the only that's been officially revealed thus far is Guilty Gear Strive.

The PS5 showcase itself is scheduled to take place on September 16 at 1 p.m. PT.
