So often we find ourselves critiquing the strongest and most overpowered characters and aspects of major fighting games like Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Street Fighter, or Super Smash Bros., but when you simply get to shrug off balance and embrace the ridiculousness is where you find the most fun.
That's exactly what True Under Dawg Gaming has been doing as of late as he explores the most hyperbolic of figures throughout NetherRealm Studios' five fighting game catalogue. Today we're taking a look at the most damaging characters in the two Injustice and three most recent Mortal Kombat titles.
There's been quite a bit of refinement in the arena of balance over the last few years as fighting game eSports have really been brought to the genre's forefront, but NRS definitely tends to take chances and (sometimes) patch things up later, especially when it came to entries of a few years back.
True has gone back to highlight the biggest damage dealers in each of the two Injustice and three latest Mortal Kombat games, and it's somewhat interesting to see that the types of characters that make the list tend to be vastly different from one another.
We won't spoil too much here, but it's worth pointing out that not all of these are absolute top tier fighters. In fact, some of these heavy hitters are among the lowest tier characters on their respective rosters. This goes to show that high damage output very clearly is not the only factor when it comes to being efficient overall... though it certainly can help.
