SNK has quite a bit of content regarding fighting games in the works right now from Samurai Shodown Season 3 to the still surprisingly absent King of Fighters 15, and now there's a nice little update on how things are progressing — there's even a new game out right now.

Producer Yasuyuki Oda released a video to provide some new information for those looking forward to SamSho Season 3 as well as some nice news for fans of The Last Blade.

As for what's coming to the world of Samurai Shodown, director Hayato Konya appeared to announce that one of the new DLC characters for the game will be a guest fighter from The Last Blade series.

Konya wouldn't elaborate on who except to joke with Oda that it's not Genbu no Okina though he does hint that it's someone that the fans absolutely adore.

That's not all they had in store for their other weapon fighting franchise either, as Oda also revealed that The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny, another NeoGeo Pocket Color title, is now available on the Nintendo Switch.

Like SNK Gals' Fighters, King of Fighters R-2, and Samurai Shodown! 2 before, the game is available for $7.99 USD on the eShop and comes packing all of the features from the handheld.

Beyond the Destiny includes story, versus, survival and training modes along with a baseball minigame featuring Juzoh and a strange vertical-scroller with Mukuro.

Tapas Media is also producing a new webcomic for The Last Blade with the first three episodes available now and 24 chapters in total planned to cover the game's characters and events.

No new release window information was given for SamSho Season 3, but Konya did state that the team is hard at work on the new characters along with balance and other adjustments for the fighter.

A next gen version of Samurai Shodown is also in the works for the Xbox Series X|S this winter.
