Daigo believes that Seth's air axe kick is mostly fine but needs a slight nerf in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition

It's mostly agreed among top players that Seth is one of the strongest characters in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition. One of Seth's best tools is his Annihilate Sword special, which allows him to change his jump arc and land with an aerial axe kick.

Although BST|Daigo Umehara thinks that Seth's Annihilate Sword is mostly fine, he does believe that it does need to be toned down. Back in September 2020, he came up with a couple of ideas to normalize the move's power level.

"Seth? Yeah, I think his axe kick is fine as it is," began Daigo. "I think they just need to give it more of a hurtbox on landing, and make it more punishable. Make the hurtbox huge on landing and make it easy to punish. That would solve everything."

While Seth does have some other strong tools at his disposal (like his forward throw), Daigo mentioned that most of them are justified due to Seth's low health. It appears that Daigo feels that Seth having one of the best forward throws in the game is not necessarily unfair.

Still, some characters have too much difficult dealing with Seth's Annihilate Sword. Daigo speculates that even Seth players wouldn't have a problem with the aerial special receiving a nerf.

"Speaking of Seth's axe kick, I feel like for certain characters, there is nothing they can do about it right now," declared Daigo. "If there is an update, I think they will nerf that move. Lots of Seth players will probably be OK with that nerf."
