When did Ed start suddenly winning so much? Street Fighter 5 September stats are out and big changes seem to be in the air

M. Bison drops out of the top 10 for the first time ever

Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition finds itself in an interesting spot right now with no offline events to go to while also being perhaps the most balanced the game has ever been in the hands of the online warriors.

The character usage and performance rankings in SF5 for the month of September are now live which features some of the biggest shake ups we've seen in a long, long time and some for the first time ever.

What is perhaps most surprising of these statistics is the jump of Ed going from the 10th best performer online to third in just one month.

According to the stats, Ed boy only had six losing match ups last month while his best come against Rashid, Menat and Chun-Li with each of them being 6-4 match ups

The other system shock is M. Bison dropping out of the top 10 in terms of wins for the first time ever. For the longest time, the dictator was the most consistent ranked number one character online, and now he sits at 16th.

Zangief also had himself quite the end to his summer by jumping to fifth overall from 14th last month with no major change in how much he was used.

F.A.N.G used to be in the top 5 performance wise for years now consistently, but now the least popular character in SF5 has been dropping like a rock in the wins department, going all of the way down to 32nd out of 40 fighters.

In terms of character usage, not much has changed aside from Seth's pick percentage dropping quite a bit since August.

It'd be pretty much impossible to pinpoint why this month saw the biggest shake ups in terms of win percentage perhaps in the entirety of Street Fighter 5's life up to this point, but September was also the time when the game became free for PlayStation Plus users.

That in turn led to more players trying out the game for the first time and possibly skewed results more than we're used to seeing.
