Sylvester Stallone is indeed voicing John Rambo in Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate

Pretty much everyone has reprised their roles at this point except Arnold

NetherRealm Studios certainly opened the floodgates this morning by announcing Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate will be dropping next month with three new characters in Kombat Pack 2 in Mileena, Rain and another '80s action hero in John Rambo.

After hearing him yell out 'I'm your worst nightmare,' fans began to immediately wonder if that was indeed Sylvester Stallone's voice on Rambo which MK co-creator Ed Boon has confirmed.

"Yes, it's Stallone's voice," tweeted Boon following the big reveal, which means almost every Hollywood actor has returned to reprise their iconic roles in MK11.

As was pretty apparent from the trailer, Rambo's default look is based on his original appearance from the film First Blood from 1982 though the developers are also taking inspiration from its sequels as well.

"Of course, having Sylvester Stallone voice one of his most iconic characters is an absolute thrill," wrote MK11 story and voice director Dominic Cianciolo on the PlayStation Blog. "We worked hard to make sure that every line of dialogue was true to the Rambo that fans know and love."

Stallone has yet to comment on his inclusion in the popular fighting game though it's unsurprising that he'd want to be involved considering he's not only played the soldier in every film, but the actor's also co-written all of the scripts as well.

Rambo's inclusion continues NetherRealm's near perfect streak of getting actors to portray their old characters for Mortal Kombat 11.

Kombat Pack 1 had Keith David return to reprise his voice as Spawn, and while they may not have gotten Mark Hamill for DC's Joker, Richard Epcar returned for the role after playing him in the Injustice series. Epcar also voices Raiden.

Aftermath brought in RoboCop which had probably most surprising get with Peter Weller coming back to the role.

The only exception in MK11 thus far is the Terminator T-800, who is voiced by an Arnold Schwarzenegger soundalike though we've never really got an explanation for why that was the case.

Schwarzenegger had voiced his distaste for violent video games during his time as governor of California which is kinda ironic now that his likeness is in one of the most bloody video games ever with his good friend Stallone also involved.

NetherRealm has yet to reveal any gameplay details or footage for Rambo, but he'll for sure bring a ton of guns and traps into battle with some one-liners.

Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate is scheduled to release on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and now also on next gen consoles too with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming at the same time too.

Hopefully this means we'll eventually get a Rambo announcer pack like they did with Peter Weller earlier this year.
