Beerus is immensely better in Dragon Ball FighterZ according to SonicFox, who alleges the character found a way around a major universal nerf
Despite his being a god of destruction in the source material, Beerus has really never been that strong of a character in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The game recently underwent a major update, however, and changes to the purple cat character have both caught the attention and earned the faith of EG|SonicFox, one of the absolute best competitors to ever play the game.
The multiple time EVO champion has been posting plenty of their Beerus findings to Twitter, showing off newly discovered sequences and abilities that surely do make the character look more formidable than he ever has been.
One of the more plain and tangible ideas recently put forward by Fox is the idea that Beerus is now perhaps the only character capable of the exceptionally powerful snap back strategy that was very popular during Season 2 of FighterZ.
This style of play emphasized snapping opponents out instead of outright killing them in order to earn mix ups on other team members, and was regarded as simultaneously incredibly efficient and frustrating.
Developers made a conscious effort to disincentivize snap back loops by making them much less effective, but Fox has discovered and provided footage of Beerus pulling off what really do look like Season 3 snap back loops. (Click the thumbnail here to see the example.)

This, along with plenty of other clips highlighting new potential for Beerus, have us wondering if SonicFox is on to something here. This player is known to catch on and see potential faster than almost anyone else in the business, and thus often winds up being the first to realize said potential in competitive play with seldom seen characters.
The very fact that a player like SonicFox is this enthusiastic certainly gives a decent bit of credence to the concept, but it's not everything. How this will all function relative to the general DBFZ Season 3 landscape? Perhaps Beerus is a good bit better now, but how well will he dance with other teammates as we continue to discover the game's updated meta?
Beat downs like the one from SonicFox below against Coach Steve (NSFW language warning) also make the character look like an especially strong part of a team, but we'll also want to see just how often Beerus pops up in the latter portions of tournament brackets once major DBFZ events start back up.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on Beerus in Season 3 thus far in the comments. Do you think he's gotten substantially better, and how high up the tier list do you think he'll realistically reach?
