Cammy's Easter egg version of Blair Dame's costume adds in some strange apparent censorship to the classic Street Fighter EX design

Not the first time for the killer bee in Street Fighter 5

The Fighting EX Layer crossover costumes continue to be the only new content we've seen added to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition in recent months, and while the first two were slam dunks for Kairi and Hokuto fans, this latest one is a bit of a head-scratcher.

Instead of completely changing her looks like Ryu and Karin, Cammy's Blair Dame Extra Battle costume uses the fighter's standard head, and it also appears to contain a seemingly random bit of censorship as well.

Cammy's Easter egg variant of the essentially free outfit, which can be used by holding all three punches, light kick and up during pre-battle loading screens, is actually Blair's original design from the Street Fighter EX series except not everything is quite the same.

The lower part of the costume appears to be censored a bit by putting some tights on underneath her her boots and one-piece top that covers up her hips, rear and thighs.

What's ultimately strange about this design choice is the fact that Blair's suit is almost exactly the same as Cammy's default costume in SF5 which isn't censored and shows off even more skin.

It doesn't really seem to be really much of a shift from the developers to be a bit more conservative with the ladies considering two of the newest characters in the game are Poison, who still shows of a lot of skin, and Seth, who is functionally nude in their defaults.

Perhaps it could have been a request from Arika though there's no real way of knowing why that change was made right now.

This isn't the first time Cammy has been on the receiving end of some mild censorship in SF5 either.

Before the game released, Capcom adjusted the camera angle for her intro from the beta to make it a bit less suggestive at the same time they changed R. Mika's booty slap for her Critical Art.

Even Blair's official character art on the Shadaloo CRI website has her costume uncensored which is extra odd.

Players have until December 3 to unlock this Blair costume before it disappears, and the final two colors will become available later tonight via missions that'll likely require taking Cammy online for some wins.
