It's been reported that the PlayStation 5 is backwards compatible with a majority of the PlayStation 4 library. Sony even recently revealed that arcade sticks that work on the PlayStation 4 will also function on the PlayStation 5.

Talon|Denesis has apparently been given an early copy of the PlayStation 5 for review purposes. He recently gave details about his Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition experience on the PlayStation 5.

It appears that Street Fighter 5 performs significantly better on the PlayStation 5 than the PlayStation 4. Denesis also notes that the PlayStation 5 is a step above the PlayStation 4 Pro.

"Loading from red and blue logo screen to the main menu takes roughly 7-10 seconds," stated Denesis. "Character select to the actual match takes roughly 3-5 seconds."

While playing on the PlayStation 4, the game can sometimes take upwards of a full minute before loading. Needless to say, this is a significant improvement.

Denesis also reports that the gameplay is much smoother on the PlayStation 5 as well. "NO MORE BISON V-TRIGGER 1 LAG! Tested on the Hong Kong stage in the V-Trigger 1 mirror. Both spamming V-Trigger 1 dash and inferno."
